这就是所谓的“名词化的动名词”。一个动词通过加后缀ing，然后当作名词用。这种名词化的动名词不是你在语法书中学到的动名词。名词化的动名词可以被冠词限定，被形容词修饰，不可以接宾语，而是用介词of表示动宾关系。在英语的进步过程中，最早的动名词都是名词化的动名词。后来动名词又“动词化”了，直接后接宾语，不再被形容词修饰而是用副词修饰。除去所有格形式外，一般不可以再用其它限定词，这就是语法书所讲述的动名词，即非谓语动词中的一种。
